Webmasters speak out about EPISODE II.
Episode II Title
I emailed a few webmasters and asked them what they thought about the Episode II title: Attack of the Clones.
Charles of Aldera.net:
"Didn't like it at first, now I couldn't care less." (Short and to the point, must be a busy man, or is just sick of talking about the title...)
-------------------------
******I got three responses from Jedinet.com!******
Matt:
"I think the title is great, and that it fits in well with the rest of the films, and for people who think it's still cheesy, they fail to realize how all the other film titles have that Saturday Morning Serial feel to them. 'The Empire Strikes Back' it just like Attack of the Clones to me."
Bryan:
"I like it. It's is a bit cheesy, but in the same likeness as "The Empire Strikes Back" or the "The Phantom Menace." Just say the titles out loud to yourself, complete 50s B movie cheese. If you were around for the whole TPM hoopla you know that folks went wild with anger when the title was announced. "Oh it has to be a joke, nooooo!" "It's so dumb, I hate it!" Well the same thing is likely to happen with AOTC (the new abbreviation folks, get used to it). The madness has probably already begun. Back to the title issue....George Lucas is a big fan of old Saturday morning serials, and "Attack of the Clones" sounds just like one, go figure. All I can say is, you'll probably learn to love the title, as many did with Phantom Menace."
'Vader'
"First reaction was "How Silly" Current reaction is "Silly" I understand he is into serials and all, but if he wants to get back the audience he lost with TPM, he should of named it a bit better."

Lady Elwing of Padme Online & Leia Tribute:
"At first I hated the new title, but it has kinda grown on me and now I sorta like it. I don't love it, but Empire Strikes Back isn't much better and everyone loves that movie so hey :) I was expecting something WAAAAAAAAY better. "Rise of the Empire" "The Saga Continues""

Webmaster responses to the below questions: 1.) If parts of the script were on a website would the people read it? 2.) Would Star Wars fans shun the site for ruining Ep. II for them? 3.) And most importantly: What webmasters would want the script and what would they do to get it? ----------------------------------------------------------- Ivan Choe of the Star Wars Episode II Prequel Watch Page. "well...to tell you seriously I wouldn't know.. I would probably do anything to get it..." "...any die hard fan would do anything to get it..."
-----------------------
Thrawn2222. Star Wars Prequels; The Unofficial Website. "Unless I was buying it from the hands of George Lucas himself I would not be willing to buy it." And even if George was willing to sell it to him he "wouldn't pay much for it, a hundred at most."
--------------------------
Star Wars Archive. They explain, in this "yes but no" response that the "star wars movies are so much better when you don't know what's going to happen."
-------------------------
Adam R. Parr of the SWFans.Net website "As Star Wars fans, we were without any official new material for sixteen years." "...we realized that we had made a big mistake, and that realization came too late."
--------------------------
Now one person I asked this question too is not a webmaster but, an actor of sorts. He contacted me when trying to get a part in Episode II. Unfortuately I was unable to give him presice information on the casting, but we have kept in contact. He has also landed some roles, I'm quite proud. You may see him is John Voight's and Gil Bellow's "2nd String" and Jennifer Lopez's "Angel Eyes" between January and July this 2001. Here's some of what he had to say: "I would not go after the script, although it may man a great deal of money! My reasons for not doing what it takes to get my hands on it are purely ethical and moral. A great deal of time, effort and sacrafice was made by an individual to creat that body of work"
------------------------
Sameer from the (former) Star Wars Database: "I would like to present parts of it to readers of the site, and would confirm/deny current rumors/buzz." "...I do not want to associate with people who steal the property of Lucasfilm and then try and sell it contraband. So I would never pay for a script."
--------------------- Lady Elwing of Leia Tribute, Padme Online and Padwania: "If parts of the script were on a website would people read it? Yes they would, in fact without revealing any names one site was contacted by Lucasfilm and forced to take it off their site. But the fans wouldn't shun the site, although they might not read the script part. Honestly the only way to remain a purist is to stay off the internet entirely until the movie comes out. As for what webmasters would want it....well an Anakin & Amidala site might want some love scenes in the script. I'm not sure how to get it...I suppose use a black opps outfit and storm skywalker ranch (actually this wouldn't be too hard)."
Star Wars Episode II Prequel Watch Page Star Wars Prequels; The Unofficial Website. Star Wars Archive SWFans.Net I can no longer have a link to the Star Wars Database! It's closed indefinately! I'm sorry to say Sameer made that decision a while back, here's what he had to say:
"Well guys, here's the lowdown. Star Wars Database is down. Indefinitely. I am trying to contact some major Star Wars sites to get Dark Side up on a different server. But I have decided not to bother with the rest of the site. In the past year we have fallen behind on news and multimedia, and most of the other big sites are better in those categories than we ever were. So I am trying to keep Dark Side -- our most unique and popular section -- online.
I would like to thank Tim Toomey and R2TinCan for working on the long-in-the-works SWD redesign. Tim created a wonderful design, and I wish we could have used it." I know I'll miss the Database!
